Apprentice Plus launch
The new Apprentice Plus programme, which lets apprentices add an NVQ in Customer Service to an existing level 2 NVQ training programme is being offered, at no extra cost, to employers.
If a business already has an apprentice, or is considering taking one on, Apprentice Plus allows the apprentice to gain two Level 2 NVQs in the usual two-year period and acquire important business skills, by adding the Customer Service course at the beginning of their chosen apprenticeship, or on completion.
The programme means employers reap the benefit of gaining an apprentice skilled in customer relations, and have a more rounded and better qualified future employee at the end of the training period.
Apprentice Plus is entirely funded and the only stipulation is that both NVQ courses must be completed within 20 months of the apprentice being taken on. As an alternative to the Customer Service route, Apprentice Plus also offers a Team Leading Level 2 NVQ which can be added to the end of an existing NVQ.
Andrew Parkin, operations manager at the Academy of Training, said: “Apprentice Plus gives the trainee a real boost and provides an excellent opportunity for employers to make the most of their apprentice, in support of the wider business need.”
