QUALIFICATION: OCR NVQ Level 2(Achieved via CLAIT and/or ECDL).
DURATION: The anticipated duration of this course will be approximately 200 hours and will vary between 12 - 15 months depending on the fuding route.
AIM OF THE COURSE: To equip the learner with the necessary skills and knowledge to use Information Technology in an office or similar environment
ENTRY AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
The are no formal entry requirements for this course and all learners are subject to an initial assessment and skill scan.
Learners are expected to possess good communication skills.
Learners should be literate and numerate and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
A work placement is required (which Academy of Training will help to secure) and learners will be supported by their employer.
The employer should allow you to attend all classroom-based activities and learning sessions provided by the Academy. These provide the opportunity to develop knowledge-based skills.
The employer will be actively involved with planning the ongoing training and support necessary for the learner to achieve the qualification.

DELIVERY:
The ITQ requires the learner to achieve one mandatory unit and four optional units. The mandatory unit requires the learner to submit four assignments of work-based evidence and will take between 40 - 60 hours. The four assignments must be based on two of the optional units achieved. Each optional unit will also take approximately 40 hours and can be taught or assessed in the workplace. The optional units must be achieved first.
ASSESSMENT:
Assessment of optional units can be taken as an examination or by observation of the learner on the job, by portfolio monitoring and by both oral and written questioning.
